The Annual International Conference 2007
The Joseph Conrad Society’s 2007 Annual International Conference, its 33rd, was held at The Polish Social and Cultural Association (POSK) in Hammersmith and at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich on 5-7 July.
Special sessions on Conrad’s letters and on the writing of an opera based on “Heart of Darkness” were held. The Philip J. Conrad Memorial lecture was delivered by J. H. Stape, who spoke on Conrad biography.

The Annual International Conference 2006
The Joseph Conrad Society’s 2006 Annual International Conference, its 32nd, was held at The Polish Social and Cultural Association (POSK) at 238-246 King Street in Hammersmith, London, on 6-8 July.
There were two special sessions on The Secret Agent in anticipation of the centenary of the novel’s publication in 2007, and papers on several topics, biographical and critical.

The Annual International Conference 2005
The Society’s 31st Annual International Conference was held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, co-sponsored by the Department of English of the Universiteit van Amsterdam and co-hosted by the Nederlands Scheepvaartmuseum (Netherlands Maritime Museum), with additional support provided by the Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis (ASCA) and the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO). The main organizer of the event was Dr Gene M. Moore.
The inaugural Philip J. Conrad Memorial Lecture was delivered by Jacques Berthoud, who spoke on Nostromo.
