The Joseph Conrad Society’s 2015 Annual International Conference was held at the Polish Cultural Centre (P.O.S.K.) in Hammersmith, West London, and the University Women’s Club in Mayfair, on 2-4 July.

The Annual International Conference 2014
The Joseph Conrad Society’s 2014 Annual International Conference, its 40th, was held in Canterbury on 2-6 July.
A special screening of Peter Fudakowski’s Secret Sharer took place at the Gulbenkian Cinema, University of Kent, followed by a discussion with the director.

The Annual International Conference 2013
The Joseph Conrad Society’s 2013 Annual International Conference, its 39th, was held in Rome on 10-13 July.
The keynote lecture was given by Jeremy Hawthorn on ‘Joseph Conrad and the testimony of the senses’.

The Annual International Conference 2012
The Joseph Conrad Society’s 2012 Annual International Conference, its 38th, was held in Bath on 4-7 July.
The keynote lecture was given by Robert Hampson on ‘Conrad and Nationality’, and there were sessions devoted to Chance in anticipation of the novel’s centenary.

The Annual International Conference 2011
The Joseph Conrad Society’s 2011 Annual International Conference, its 37th, was held in London on 7-9 July.
The sessions of 7-8 July were held at the Polish Social and Cultural Association (POSK) at 238-246 King Street in Hammersmith. Those of 9 July were held at the University Women’s Club at 2 Audley Square, Mayfair.
The Philip J. Conrad Memorial lecture was delivered by C. T. Watts, who spoke on ‘Heart of Darkness’.

The Annual International Conference 2010
The Joseph Conrad Society’s 2010 Annual International Conference, its 36th, was held in conjunction with the Société Conradienne Française on 14-17 September in Versailles (St-Quentin-en-Yvelines) and Paris.
The sessions of 14-16 September were held at the Université de Versailles-St-Quentin. The sessions of 17 September were held at the Bibliothèque Polonaise de Paris on the Ile-de-la-Cité.
Keynote lectures were given by Laurence Davies, Zdzislaw Najder, and Claude Maisonnat, and three sessions on Under Western Eyes were held in anticipation of the centenary of the novel’s publication.

The Annual International Conference 2009
The Joseph Conrad Society’s 2009 Annual International Conference, its 35th, was held on 2-4 July at two venues in London. The third Philip J. Conrad Memorial Lecture was delivered by Andrea White.
The sessions of 2 July were held at the Polish Social and Cultural Association (POSK) at 238-246 King Street in Hammersmith. The sessions of 3 and 4 July were held at the University Womens’ Club at 2 Audley Square, Mayfair.

The Joseph Conrad Society’s 2008 Annual International Conference, its 34th, was held at Bishop Grosseteste University College, Lincoln, 2-5 July.
